The UKSSA had been invited along to race at the Hogtoberfest event by Timmy Peters, one of the Southampton University crew, who had set the event up as a fun weekend featuring various workshops and downhill races for all skill levels. Last Saturday Sam Gordon, Paul Coupe and I visited the new Cyclopark facility in Northfleet near Gravesend in Kent. The facility has yet to be completed but we went to check it out for suitability as another race venue and an alternative to Hog Hill, which next year is booked solid due to the Olympics. [...]
This years British Open Slalom Championships attracted the biggest European field at a British for some considerable time. Riders representing Holland, Germany, France, Sweden, Czech Republic and Spain as well as an “adopted Brazilian Brit” and an expat from New Zealand.
